Art Classes are held every Thursday over the Summer School Holidays: 21st December 2017 to 25th January 2018 (except Thursday 4th January)
An experienced artist and art teacher, Greta can confidently guide your child/ren with age-appropriate skill development in a relaxed and fun setting while you enjoy morning tea or lunch (and perhaps a cheeky glass of wine!).
Only high quality and non-toxic art materials are used. Students are closely monitored at all times to ensure their safety and participation.
Each class runs for 90 minutes with a short 10-15 minute toilet/snack break (please provide your child with a water bottle).
Please note: art classes are only suitable for children aged 6-14 years.

Thursday 21st December: A PARTRIDGE and a PEAR TREE
Drawing inspiration from the much loved Christmas song “The
Twelve Days of Christmas”, students will be guided through designing and creating their very own individualized Partridge and a Pear Tree (or Magpie and a Cherry Tree for an Adelaide Hills version) standing decoration just in time for Christmas. Pattern, colour and shape will be explored through drawing and painting techniques designed to build skills in a fun and Christmassy way. BYO smock or old t-shirt to protect clothing.
Thursday 11th January: PATCH GARDEN MANDALA
Perfect for the budding naturalist and illustration-loving child, in this relaxing class students will create their own circular mandala inspired by the variety of patterns to be found in the leaves, flowers, seed pods and twigs of the beautiful gardens of Patch Kitchen & Garden. Students will be guided from initial observational drawing of these natural materials to creating their own large pen and watercolour on paper artwork, perfect for framing. BYO smock or old t-shirt to protect clothing.
Thursday 18th January: PATCH CHICKENS
Explore the beautiful patterns and colours of Patch’s very own resident chickens in this fun class. We will watch and draw the chickens as they move about in their chicken pen and then go back into the barn to plan, design and create a fun mixed media painting to take home. BYO smock or old t-shirt to protect clothing. Two sessions to choose from:
Thursday 25th January: A KOALA and a WOMBAT
With Australia Day just around the corner, students will celebrate and explore these iconic Australian animals through a variety of drawing materials and techniques, including pencil, charcoal and pastels, with each child bringing their own individual interpretation to these very cute creatures. Hand draw a bow-tie or hair ribbon in for extra personality. A very creative and experimental class where process is just as important as the final outcome. Guaranteed busy fun!!
